HL's preschool

Writing about HL's preschool Christmas party got me thinking about his school in general... Almost every morning, HL fights going to preschool, but when we pick him up, he never wants to go home! At first he wouldn't say a thing about class, but lately he has really started to talk about it. He'll tell us when he sees things that remind him of his friends at class, or he'll tell us something he learned. Like just yesterday I knew he had recently learned about tigers so I asked him what they eat (fully expecting some simple answer like animals). Instead, the answer I got was "deer, wild pigs, and water buffalo"! Whoa. His preschool is currently doing a program where the kids have asked family members to mail in postcards. Then, in class, they will match the location of the postcard to a map. What a great way to learn geography! (Good idea, Miss S!) When I took this picture, HL was the "line leader" for the day and he was very proud to show off his line leading skills for me. He's normally such a shy guy, this made a big impression on me. In sum, HL truly enjoys preschool, he is learning a lot there, and we are very grateful to his teacher.
