AW and his naps

So it has now been 10 days since little AW has taken a nap. Not happy about this. It just got more and more difficult until finally he just refuses. Hubby still puts him in his crib every afternoon for 45 minutes, but he just sits there and cries. Lately he has started be quiet for very short periods, but remains awake nonetheless. He's not even two yet- he can't give up naps!! Does anyone have any input or advice? Please help!
